Community Partnership Program for Informatics Engineering at SMA/SMK Manado Christian Education Foundation

Manado, BeritaManado.com - The Informatics Engineering Study Program at Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT) introduced Technology and Multimedia-Based learning to SMA/SMK Manado Christian Education Foundation, Friday (20/9/2019).

Informatics Engineering Study Program UNSRAT through a team consisting of lecturers and students including the Head of the Virginia Tulenan Study Program, S.Kom, MTI, Dr. eng. Sary Paturusi, ST, M. Eng, Sartje Silimang, ST, MT, Yekke Mamahit, ST, M. Eng, and two students on behalf of Julio Robot and Tara Tuju.

The Descendant Team immediately introduced Technology and Multimedia-Based Learning through the Community Partnership Program (PKM), this is a form of Community Service as part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Through this Community Partnership Program (PKM), the Informatics Engineering Study Program UNSRAT provides new things to the community, especially for teachers and students whose activities take place at SMA/SMK YPK Manado.

In addition to socialization, this activity also introduced Technology and Multimedia-Based Learning through presentations and presentations from lecturers and students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program UNSRAT.

This is very positive so that there is a new color in the teacher's learning method to students.

Lecturer of Informatics Engineering UNSRAT Dr. eng. Sary Paturusi, ST, M. Eng told BeritaManado.com that this activity aims to introduce multimedia learning to teachers and students.

"This is a Community Service activity, namely the socialization or introduction of multimedia learning in YPKM SMA and SMK, so this multimedia learning applies to students and also existing teachers, both in SMA and SMK, so how can we package learning content to be more interesting not only text, books, or whiteboard media, but with multimedia content where teachers can also take advantage of technology,” said Enci Sary.

Enci Sary added that there are lessons that use simple technology, namely power points, through educational games and videos.

"With multimedia content, teachers can package learning content using technology, the simplest of which is power points, or learning videos or learning through games," he continued.

Furthermore, according to Enci Sary, this collaboration can last a long term, it will continue to occur considering the positive impacts that can be achieved, so many things and materials from UNSRAT, especially the Informatics Engineering Study Program, can be shared with the community, especially teachers and students.

"In the future, from UNSRAT, especially the Informatics Engineering Study Program, this collaboration can take place some time in the future, not just now. There is so much that can be shared, there can be a transfer of knowledge to them, this is also a form of dedication to the Informatics Engineering Study Program," said Enci Sary.

Current students or students tend to prefer something new, monotonous learning methods allow students to feel bored in learning.

A happy expression was conveyed by Ricki, one of the students of SMA/SMK YPK Manado.

“I am very happy that Unsrat's brothers and lecturers can share knowledge with us students. We got new knowledge, frankly like this, it's easy to understand, interesting," said Ricki.
