Certified internships are part of the program Kampus Merdeka which aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn and develop themselves through activities outside the classroom. In the certified internship program, students will gain work experience in the real industry/professional world for 1-2 semesters. By direct learning at the internship partner's workplace, students will gain both hard skills and soft skills that will prepare students to be more confident to enter the world of work and careers.
During the internship students will gain hard skills (skills, complex problem solving, analytical skills, etc.), as well as soft skills (professional/work ethics, communication, cooperation, etc.). Meanwhile, industry/government agencies obtain talent which, if suitable, can later be recruited immediately, thus reducing recruitment and initial training/induction costs. Students who are familiar with the workplace will be more stable in entering the world of work and their careers. Through this activity, industrial/government agency problems will flow to tertiary institutions so that updating teaching and learning materials for lecturers as well as research topics in tertiary institutions will be more relevant.
Traveloka Indonesia is a company that provides flight ticket and hotel booking services online with a focus on domestic travel in Indonesia. Founded in 2012 by Ferry Unardi, Derianto Kusuma, and Albert Zhang. Traveloka Indonesia, which is a startup company with unicorn status from Indonesia, is developing its services for booking train tickets, buses, car rentals, and tourist activities. Since 2015, Traveloka Indonesia has started to expand to a number of countries in Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
The Traveloka Indonesia company was founded in 2012 by Ferry Unardi, Derianto Kusuma, and Albert Zhang. This idea arose when Ferry Unardi often experienced difficulties in ordering planes, especially when he wanted to return to Padang, Indonesia, from the United States.
At the beginning of the concept, Traveloka Indonesia functioned as a search engine to compare flight ticket prices from various other sites. In mid-2013 Traveloka then turned into an airplane ticket reservation site where users can make reservations on the official website. In March 2014, Ferry Unardi stated that Traveloka Indonesia would soon enter into the hotel room reservation business. In July 2014, hotel booking services were made available on the Traveloka website.
Traveloka Indonesia has several office locations in Jakarta. In the context of monitoring and evaluating certified apprentice students kampus merdeka, the team visited one of the Traveloka Indonesia offices located at Jl. BSD Green Office Park No. 1 BSD City, Kel, Sampora, Kec. Cisauk, Tangerang Regency, Banten 15345. This location is also known as the Traveloka Campus and is where students of the informatics engineering study program carry out certified internships from August to December 2022.
