Organizing the Election of the Chairperson and Secretary of the BEM Faculty of Engineering Unsrat

On Friday, February 5, 2021, the Faculty of Engineering, Sam Ratulangi University, held a democracy day in which students from the Engineering Faculty elected the Chair and Secretary of the BEM of the Engineering Faculty, Sam Ratulangi University.

During the current pandemic, campuses in North Sulawesi have not yet carried out lecturing activities as usual and as is known during this pandemic for the realm of education, almost all over Indonesia teaching and learning activities and organizational activities are carried out online. From that, the Engineering Faculty Student General Election Commission, abbreviated as KPUM-FT, carried out a policy by holding the election of the Chair and Secretary of the BEM of the Faculty of Engineering Unsrat which was the first election in the Faculty in North Sulawesi.

The election held by KPUM-FT itself is not as easy as imagined. There are many procedures and mechanisms that must be carried out, both from the faculty and procedures in creating an election website. The KPUM-FT itself organizes the election process from the time the KPUM-FT was formed until the day of the election, which takes about 2 months. Elections conducted online are very demanding of information and publications that are clear, honest, and open through social media, because social media is in this pandemic era.

KPUM-FT today held elections in the E-library room near the Faculty of Engineering with voting time taking place in 5 hours from 10.00 WITA to 15.00 WITA. For the election mechanism itself, KPUM-FT Unsrat organizes online voting using the fatek.unsrat.ac.id website account and voters themselves can only use their voting rights by registering on the google form that has been created by KPUM-FT and the voter. get a link, username, and password to be able to log in to the website link provided from KPUM-FT. For the mechanism from KPUM-FT itself to get active student data for permanent voters from the google voter registration form which will be sorted by KPUM-FT so that KPUM -FT gets the number of permanent voters in the Faculty of Engineering.

KPUM-FT is also very careful and strict in running the program on the website that will be used for voting.
